Contrary to modern evangelicalism’s teaching of toleration and acceptance of all people in the church, the Bible teaches there is actually one category of people who should not be welcomed at all. While many churches seeks to make these people as comfortable in their sin as possible, and use every worldly means to bring them through their wide gate that leads to destruction, Jesus has a warning for such churches in Revelation 2:18-29.

The Church is the assembly of believers. A gathering of Christians to encourage one another in the Faith and worship of God. Non belivers should be excluded. How can Christians be unequally yoke in fellowship and worship? Christians bring the Gospel to the world, not the world to the Church.

The church is certainly the Body of Christ comprised of true worshipers of God. But, we also certainly want nonbelievers among us to see this true worship and to hear the Gospel preached. While the gathering is not the primary means of evangelism, evangelistic preaching is necessary from the pulpit, and God does save His sheep through it. But there is a third category not welcomed, which is what Pastor Jesse addressed in his sermon. I hope you get a chance to listen.
