My good friend and street preacher Scott Smith was interviewed in the following video by what seems to be a Theistic Evolutionist. It is well worth the view and nicely compliments last week’s post, Jeffrey Dahmer Epitomizes Evolutionary Theory.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27; 2:7, 19-23
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them…7 then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature…
19 Now out of the ground the Lord God had formed every beast of the field and every bird of the heavens and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. And whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name. 20 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.
21 So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. 22 And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Who is this Scott Smith? He appears to support the Gap Theory, which is a discredited and compromising position. It is a shame that Scott Smith is not more well-grounded in the Word of God. As for this interviewer, he is a foolish and confused young man who is way, way out in left field, and does not even know what he is talking about. Instead of soundly refuting this young man, Scott allows room for the ideas of fallible men to mix with the infallible word of God. Disappointing!

Scott is a dear brother who has a great passion for the lost and bleeding heart to glorify Christ through street evangelism. I thought he refuted the interviewer soundly, although he did leave room for a gap. I would not agree with that at all and it wasn’t clear in the video whether Scott holds that position personally. I hope to ask him about that today and will get back to you.

Death. What is death and where did it come from? Why is it here? Why did Jesus DIE? The biblical answers to these questions establish how great sin is, the consequences of sin, and why we need a savior. Death and suffering before the fall? That cannot be true, and the gospel be true at the same time. Evolution is incompatible with the true gospel of scripture. Theistic evolution claims that death and suffering are good tools of God to perfect his creation, even man. Death before the fall. Yet scripture claims that death is the result of the Fall, and that Christ will have full victory over death and suffering because of His sacrificial death in our place. The gap theory compromises the trust in scripture that it deserves. Scripture is sufficient and trustworthy. Let’s trust and obey, rather than question it’s integrity.

With all due respect Arron you have several problems with your line of thinking and subsequent questions. Here are just a few that struck me first go around and I would welcome a response.
1) Being convinced that evolution is entirely possible by a teacher of higher education without offering up a single shred of this evidence during your interview is more of a problem with your love of man,Scripturally speaking.Much like the human eye,the camera doesn’t lie!
2) What ‘tree of life ‘exactly are you referencing in this interview with Mr.Smith?

Hey Daniel, thanks for your comment. Maybe you could pose these questions on Epydemic’s youtube channel under this video?
