New Street Preaching Resource

Biblical street preaching is being revived in America as the Lord is raising up Christians to be heralds of the Gospel in their local communities. Personally, God has used brothers like Tony Miano over the last few years to teach me, exhort me, and admonish me to be faithful to my family, faithful to my church, and faithful to Scripture in my understanding of biblical evangelism.

I am very excited to share with you a new resource Tony is working on at the Christian Research Apologetics Ministry (CARM). Through this new street preaching section of the CARM website, Tony hopes to provide concise, relevant, theological, and practical support to street preachers of every level of experience. The street preaching section of the CARM website is divided into categories that will expand over time, and the initial categories include:

• Introduction
• Issues and Answers
• Street Preaching Training
• Street Preaching Tips

These categories will give a definition and history of street preaching going back to examples in Scripture, they will address both common and uncommon objections to street preaching, they will provide in-depth training articles to help the open-air preacher hone his craft, and offer short articles and videos providing quick tips to help street preachers improve specific areas of their open-air preaching.

The Lord blessed me to serve alongside Tony at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London a few months ago. Tony not only exemplifies godly character through social media and the teaching resources he provides, but he is consistent in person and a godly example of an evangelist, a brother, a husband, a father, and a friend. These, of course, are marks of one who is qualified to be a minister of God’s Word and a shepherd of God’s people to equip them for the work of the ministry (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; Ephesians 4:11-16).

I commend the new CARM Street Preaching section to all who aspire to be a street preacher, and especially to churches who desire to incorporate street preaching into their evangelism ministries. I trust I will continue to learn from the resources Tony provides, and I am confident you will too as you seek to be faithful to this biblical practice of evangelism in street preaching.
