The following two quotes from John MacArthur and James White underscore the hypocrisy of the culture of death:
John MacArthur in A Pastoral Response to the Newtown Massacre:
This nation is aggressively killing unborn infants in the millions, and doesn’t feel any remorse apparently, all the way up to the highest levels. And yet there is this outrage about the massacre of six and seven year olds, and a complete indifference to the massacre of unborn infants. And they keep saying “the school is supposed to be a safe place, the school is supposed to be a safe place”, yeah, well so is the womb supposed to be a safe place. And that kind of duplicity and that kind of hypocrisy needs to be confronted, it really does.
James White in Responding to Evil and Suffering:
…We are especially emotionally involved in thinking “what a coward who shoots children!” But most of us in our minds have created a barrier, because it’s just too difficult each and every day to realize, that the very thing that made those children such reprehensible victims of evil, happens in each one of our neighborhoods.
We live in a land with blood dripping from our hands from the murder of unborn children and the president who stood before the nation and teared up has been one of the most consistent supporters of partial birth abortion in the United States government.
And let me tell you something, on the level of moral evil, shooting a kid is horrible, but jamming scissors into one’s head and sucking its brains out is a whole lot worse! And yet we reward the people who do that. You want a schizofrenic society? We live in it.
You want to know the real source of these issues, look at the culture of death that we have embraced, and within a matter of weeks ago reaffirmed. And you wonder why Jesus said, “you think you’re better, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.”
We mourn with those who mourn, and we help those who cannot help themselves. These two are not mutually exclusive from each other – both are commanded in Scripture. While liberal politicians will exploit this evil for stricter gun control, may this same evil compel Christians to wake up to the American holocaust of pre-born children. Turn your anger and mourning into compassion and zeal. We can only pray for the victims’ families, but we can pray and fight for the lives of children who have yet to be murdered by abortion. What you are feeling right now about these precious children should be felt every day until abortion is abolished. We are commanded to expose the works of darkness, love our neighbors, and preach the Gospel.
Even before Newtown, I was so encouraged in what I saw the Lord doing in His people to awaken them to the mission field of pro-life ministry. If your prayer and desire is to become more compassionate toward the lost and your neighbor, a door is already opened for you. Find a crisis pregnancy center and/or your closest abortion mill and begin ministering to the hopeless and loving preborn children today. It will change your life forever to the glory of Christ. I will help you get started any way I can.
If you have had an abortion (or were involved with an abortion) and are living in a sea of guilt and hopelessness, know that you do not have to stay there. You can be set free and be forgiven. Jesus Christ took upon Himself even the sin of abortion, and He bore the punishment for this crime, perhaps your crime, so that those who repent and trust Christ’s sufficient work on the cross, perhaps even you dear friend, would be saved from God’s wrath to come. Because Christ tasted and defeated death, because Christ lives, those who have their hope in Him will live forever with Him.
Abortion is not the unforgivable sin. Come to Christ and live and be set free from this bondage of sin and hopelessness. Christ’s love is so deep, His grace is so rich, that you will find eternal rest for your soul if you humble yourself before Him and just cry out for Him to save you. He will not cast you away. Repent and come to Him, receive Life, be forgiven, and be guilty no more.
If you have not signed the White House petition calling for the Obama administration to be consistent in its call to protect all children, please do so now and share with everyone you know:
WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Immediately Abolish the Legalized Murder of Pre-born Children
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

I’m with you on the abortion holocaust and the need to reduce and make this a rare occurrence. It would be really wonderful, though, if we could agree that caring for these unborn children once they leave the womb might be honorable as well. You want to save them, but do you care what happens to them after that? What if they are born to a drug addicted mother? What if she’s schizophrenic and couldn’t care for a baby without abusing it? How often do Christians and the religious right follow what happens to all of these babies they are saving?
Just wondering if you’ve thought about this..

James 1:27 tells us, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
That goes for orphans inside and outside the womb. So personally, yes, we make every effort to care for these babies and the mothers, including offering to adopt ourselves as well as provide baby showers and medical care for mothers who choose life for their baby.
I can’t help but wonder if you are suggesting abortion in cases where these babies would be born into precarious circumstances. Is that the case? Also, you seem to be saying abortion is acceptable in some cases by your mention of rare occurrences – is that also the case?

No, I’m against abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life of the mother. I’m not in favor of any abortion after three months, except to save the life of the mother.
What I don’t support is the hypocrisy I see of people who don’t care about the poor, the addicted, the infirmed, and downtrodden, who are against universal health care, and who do everything in their power to prevent these needy people from receiving governmental aid. That’s talking out of two sides of one’s mouth and it’s not a very Christian attitude. I see more and more of this kind of hypocrisy from those who claim to be against abortion and pro-life. They are “pro-life” when it suits them and don’t appear to care much about that life once it’s born.

If I understand you correctly, you are in favor of the choice to punish babies for the crimes of their father? Additionally, you may find this helpful concerning life-threatening cases for mother’s who are pregnant: https://airocross.com/2012/11/02/abortion-never-saves-a-womans-life/
How do you know that people do not care about the poor, etc., because they speak for the voiceless? Being against universal (socialized) health care does not equate to not caring for those in need, nor does it equate to believing people in appropriate cases should not receive aide from the government (aide for those who cannot work, not for those who choose not to work).
There is no biblical precedent for any form of socialism, so the argument is found desperately wanting.

If what you are saying is true….then where are these poor children wandering the streets of America that nobody cares about? Have you got any photos of them you could upload for us? You are believing pro-death lies. Are you suggesting that women in poor countries should kill their babies just in case they can’t take care of them?!? No, babies are born every day all over the world and somehow people cope. This has been true for thousands of years. Even in America rarely do young parents ever feel likt they have all the money they will need to care for a child for 18 years. But they have children anyway. And every single child is cared for and raised up with the provision that God graciously gives us, day by day. It is not lack of compassion that makes people against governmental health insurance. Which is actually what is being forced on us. We will be forced to buy health insurance which up to now has been a choice of the individual (note the word choice). People’s concern is that rights and money will be taken away from US citizens in order to enrich the government. Because it isn’t the people that will ultimately benefit from the universal health insurance scheme. It’s the government. Again, you are beliving lies. With every one of these schemes where the government takes from the citizens and then decides what to do with the citizens’ money and who gets what and why, the government end up misusing it – basically stealing the money. This happened with so-called social security (which is now bankrupt) and it will happen with health insurance too. The solution is not to have the government take care of us! We used to be free and independent and this is what our nation was founded upon. You worked and cared for your family yourself, you didn’t sit around worrying whether the Government was going to provide for you. Now people get angry if they think the government isn’t giving them what they need.

Christians in every city have homeless shelters, help for the poor in intellect, material goods, and emotional trauma, help for unwanted pregnancies, and lists of those who desire to adopt these “unwanted” children. There is help for the mother who desires to learn to care for her child. There are ministries full of people that care for the disabled. There are churches that actively care for those that need anything! Go and see for yourself!
A life is a life. A baby is a baby. No one has the right to kill for any reason. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Would you like to have been brutally murdered in the womb?

We are no longer living in the dark ages and the country is far too big to address everyone falling through the cracks, via a church, ministry, shelter, etc. There are countless people who have lost their homes in this economy. Whole families live in tents or on the street. You haven’t even touched upon the drug abuse, crime problems in America. It’s not as simple or easy as you make it out to be. Older kids and even babies of color go unadopted for years; the foster care system is in extremely sad shape. Have you checked out the stats on abused children in the foster care system? How many foster children do you have? How many unwanted babies have you adopted?
It’s very easy to be pious and feel superior in your stance of wanting to do away with all abortion, but it’s not you in those shoes, is it? (General “you,” said to all of you). For those of you who want to make illegal all abortion, you obviously don’t care about the health of the mother, the significant possibility of incest or rape either.
We need to work with Democrats and find a way to REDUCE ABORTION before we try to completely do away with it; that is never going to happen anyway. There are ways to work in a bi-partisan fashion and reduce the choice of abortion significantly, which is what everybody wants.
May I suggest this post to you reading here…. it might throw more compassion for others and their unique circumstances into your points of view, which appear to be very narrow minded at the present time.

Warrioress,
The same questions you pose to us should be asked of you also: how many foster children have you taken care of? you have adopted how many kids? you get the point. As for abortion, even the “rape & incest argument” falls in favor of the mother, with NO ONE speaking for the helpless baby. A real mother (and us fathers, too) would willingly give their life for their child, so the “for the life of the mother” argument falls short also.
After viewing your web site I found almost nothing in your preaching that would turn a lost man to the Savior. There was plenty of the failed ‘social gospel’ (which is no Gospel at all) and lots of outward concern for those down and out, but there was little of showing a person of their real need: the saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. The physical needs of people should and must be met as we have opportunity, but to pass over one’s need of the Savior is a far greater failure. It is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that is true ‘agenda’ or ‘soap box’ that we should focus on. It is the saving power of our Lord to deliver a man from the power of sin. Being born again changes the heart and causes a man who once cursed Christ to fall before Him in worship and praise. To help those in need is admirable, but their greatest need is that of eternal life. Can we neglect man’s greatest need, salvation, for the things of this life? I hope not.

On the contrary warrioress…I am afraid there is another dark ages descending upon us. The name you have chosen to use is a small indicator of that very thing. The dark ages was due to complete ignorance of biblical truth. We are back there again and it shows in the news every single day.

To the warrioress,
You stated “It’s very easy to be pious and feel superior in your stance of wanting to do away with all abortion, but it’s not you in those shoes, is it?” Let me point out the stance against abortion is not based on a need to feel superior, it is based on the Sovereign God of the universe and what He hates, “There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,’…Proverbs 6:16, 17
Murdering the unborn is detestable to the Creator of all mankind. Children are a gift from God, our society has no compassion for human life. We make commercials showing the abuse of animals and ask for help, which is fine and good, but we think nothing of ripping an unborn child to pieces in the womb of his/her mommy. No matter how you try and dance around it, murdering children is a detestable sin; America is stained with the blood of millions of murdered babies and God has not overlooked this at all.
Your view that we now have a ‘modern’ society and should be allowed to kill is typical; let’s get involved in issues that matter, in your opinion, like child abuse and foster care. So by your logic, just because children are abused and not cared for, we should go ahead and allow abortion? How about grown adults and adolescents who want to be sexually active taking responsibility for their actions? Who doesn’t know what sexual intercourse may lead to? Teach your kids sex is for marriage, and if you are an adult, act like one! Quit sleeping around and being sexually active! Tons of kids are being raised by single parents, or in homes with a live-in boyfriend or girlfriend. The covenant of marriage and the institution of family is pretty much dead in America, we are so sexually immoral, and yet, we want to lash out at those who take a biblical stance against the murder of the unborn! Kids are left to raise themselves, they are taught nothing about the God who created them, they know nothing of what a true loving family with a mom and dad is like. So what’s the solution? Kill them before they’re born, according to you warrioress. May God have mercy.
Do not say ‘God bless you’ when you have no clue what He detests!! You have no right to take His name upon your lips when you stand for what He hates. May God be merciful to you, may He reveal your sins and your wickedness to you, may He, by His grace, show you how Christ made atonement for sin, for those who cry out for His mercy because they see how wicked and vile they truly are. The sin of murdering the unborn is about as wicked at it gets.
