In preparing a letter to my church home requesting consideration to show to our congregation the new pro-life documentary titled, 180, I thought it might be helpful to present it to you as a template to share with your own church leaders. While it may be acceptable to send this letter in an email, I believe it will have a stronger impact if you hand deliver it or send by mail. Here’s some instructions to assist you:
- Go to Living Waters to purchase the 180 film (you can get 10 copies for $10).
- Determine which church elder to present this package.
- Copy and paste the template into a Word document or other word processing tool.
- Fill in the appropriate blanks and make any necessary changes
- Go to the following links and print the pages to include as attachments in your package: Life News and Heartchanger.
- Include in your package: the following letter, two attachments, and one hard copy of the 180 DVD.
I pray this serves to help 180 be shown in your churches, that lives will be saved and changed. Soli Deo Gloria!
180 Template – Letter to Church Leader(s)
Dear Pastor ___________,
I am writing to inquire of your consideration to view the included documentary titled, 180. As you well know, over 53 million babies have been aborted since 1973, and there has been little progress in fighting this tragedy. Ray Comfort, producer of the documentary, admits himself in the attached Life News article,
I have held up pro-life signs. I have printed pro-life literature and spoken against abortion in pulpits and in my books, but I have felt that all my efforts were almost futile—that is, up until now. In 180 we have a nation-changer…Most of us know that we should be doing something to stop this horror, but the thought of protesting is a little unnerving, especially with the demonization of those who do so. But here is something each of us can easily do—we can give this DVD out. We can pass them out on the streets, leave copies on park benches or on seats in malls or give it to the checkout lady at the supermarket. This isn’t hard to do, and it will save lives—perhaps millions of lives.
This award-winning documentary has also garnered endorsements from leaders around the country including John Piper, Francis Chan, Randy Alcorn, Kay Authur, Joni Eareckson Tada, David Platt, Kirk Cameron, Greg Koukl, and many others. I’ve attached their endorsements to this letter.
With over 228,000 views on Youtube in the first three days of its release, 180 is proving to be a must-see documentary for every individual. People are literally changing their minds about abortion after viewing the film, which is only 33 minutes long. The Gospel is also clearly presented in the film, which of course is critical for hearts to truly be changed on this issue. Although I’ve always been pro-life, 180 shook me in realizing just how horrifying this American holocaust is, and I’m thankful we now have a weapon that has the potential to change the heart of America.
I am asking you to prayerfully consider showing the 180 documentary to our congregation, whether as a congregation, in Sunday school classes, and/or in small groups. I understand ________________ Church generally does not get involved in these issues, but I think you may consider this to be worthy of our church’s involvement. We now have a formidable tool to impact our nation with the love of Christ while potentially saving millions of lives.
Included you will find a copy of the 180 documentary. Please contact me to share your thoughts and your decision whether to show the film to our church body.
You can learn more about the film by visiting http://180movie.com and http://heartchanger.com
Thank you for taking the time to consider this request and I hope to hear from you soon.

Justin,
I watched this video and think it’s a great way to confront people in a way that does it with love. Hopefully many will buy this and pass it around. Baby killing is an atrocity and hopefully this video will cause people in such a situation to stop and think before acting or opting for abortion. Abortion is an awful evil nomatter the circumstances.
There’s hope out there for the women in this situation. All kinds of other avenues to take besides murdering the baby. And for those who have already had one, God will forgive them if they turn to Him in repentance. That’s good news for both the women and the men involved. So I pray nobody who’s ever had an abortion thinks God won’t forgive them, He will. We have a very merciful God. Just go to Him in repentance from the heart. Read 1 John 1:9
Thank you for posting this. Let’s pray it spreads all over.
Blessings to you and your ministry.
