CIAA 2012 Evangelism Report

Posted on March 12, 2012

Last Saturday The Speak:Truth Project hit the streets to minister to the patrons of the 2012 CIAA tournament. Due to a busy week out of town last week, I wasn’t able to give a full report, but I wanted to share a few videos and photos with you nevertheless. About 15 saints gathered together for the proclamation of the Gospel through tract distribution, one-on-one witnessing, and open-air preaching. I am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in my brothers and sisters as He continues to equip them for the work of the ministry. Out of the 10 saints who open-air preached on Saturday, 5 of us were not preaching this time last year. The Lord is doing a great work in bringing in laborers for the harvest!

This first video was taken on the Lynx Light Rail on the way to Uptown. Not only did we get to systematically articulate the Gospel and the nature of God to the passengers in a round-table fashion, but it was a wonderful exercise to challenge each believer in their understanding of various doctrines. We plan on doing more of this as it will help keep us sharp and on our toes:

Here is a list of questions one might pull from if you’d like to do something similar with your group:

Who is God?
Who created all things?
What is the holiness of God?
What is the condition of man?
What is sin?
What is God’s justice?
What is God’s wrath?
What is righteousness?
What is the Gospel?
What is justification?
What is grace?
What is mercy?
What is the love of God?
Who is Jesus Christ?
What is atonement?
Why did Jesus die on the cross?
Why did Jesus shed His blood?
Did Jesus sin?
What is the resurrection?
What is propitiation?
What is repentance?
What is faith?
What does it mean to be born again?
How does one receive eternal life?
What is a new creation in Christ?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
What does it mean to be a Christian?
What is sanctification?
What is a false convert?
What is hell?
What is eternal life?
What is hope?
What is a disciple?
Is there more than one path to God?
Do people in other religions go to heaven or hell?
Do good people go to heaven?

This next video is of Aaron Beane, one of the brothers who was not preaching this time last year. In fact, his first experience of open-air preaching was from the Super Bowl Outreach in February and this was his first time on the box back home in Charlotte. I praise God for the work He is doing in my brother. Although the camera died before he finished with the Gospel, it is clear the Lord has given Aaron the gift of preaching the Gospel in the open air. He compassionately and humbly proclaims the truth in love, pleading with lost sinners to flee from God’s wrath by yielding at the foot of the cross to receive eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Here is video of me preaching at the beginning of the day:

Photos of the day can be seen at the original post here. Please see our 2012 schedule if you’d like to join us on one of our outreaches this year. You don’t need any evangelism experience to come out and we’d love the opportunity to encourage you and train you to be a biblical and effective witness for Christ. Soli Deo Gloria!
