To the Dregs

To the dregs sinners will drink

The wrath of God for their iniquity.

To the dregs Jesus did drink

The wrath of God for sinners who repent and believe.

Jesus drank it all, every last drop,

The holy fury of the Living God.

Propitiation, the expression of Christ’s love

For sinners, elect from the Father above.

God commands all to turn to Him by faith,

Confessing Jesus as Lord, else they meet an eternally painful fate.

In the end, either you or Jesus drinks the cup

Of God’s wrath, the full everlasting brunt.

So look to the Lamb of God, who shed His own blood

For you, if you should be His son.

Bow your knee, while you still breathe,

To the glorified risen King, extending His mercy.

To the dregs Jesus did drink

The wrath of God for sinners who repent and believe.
